Grower Services ManagerJob location:Bay of Plenty Rest of Bay of Plenty Work Type: Permanent » » » »Work for a down to earth boutique packhouse team »Provide personal service for your growers, relationships are valuable »Have fun at work, people love working here The Company You’ll join a boutique packhouse located outside Katikati who punch above their weight as a high performing packhouse and are amongst the best in the Bay, proven by the results they’ve gained for their growers. Their smaller size enables them to personalise their service for growers, they expect to have put through between 2.2 and 2.4 million trays this season. The team all get on well, it’s a work hard play hard culture and when the season is in full swing, everyone is appreciated and compensateed for their hard work and commitment. The Job We are seeking for an practiced Grower Services Manager as the key connector between the packhouse and growers. Your first task is to ensure all existing growers are looked after and provided with the best service. You’re also responsible for bringing on new orchards in line with total crop volume targets. The core responsibilities of this function include: » Retention of the current grower base with regular quarterly visits to all growers. » Procure new crops; attend industry events, visit potential growers, offer options of orchard management, leasing or shareholder options. » Maintenance of contracts, new and existing. » Work closely with the Lab Manager and team and the Orchard team coordinating the harvest and packing schedule and lab monitoring. » Constant communication with growers; pre, during and post season, providing clear plans, updates on processing and post pick reporting. » Represent the packhouse at Grower Field Days and industry meetings. Including contact with Zespri. There are no direct reports for this position, however Information technology is an integral connector within the business. this function reports to the GM and has very close contact with the orchard management team, lab team, packhouse and coolstore team and admin.
