Excited about education and supporting students to be their best? A unique and compensateing vacancy has just opened at The Learning Connexion School of Creativity and Art and this could be your chance to launch into a function that really makes a difference.
We need a naturally warm, supportive and dedicated person to join our Distance Delivery mentor team as an arts and creativity mentor. The core function of the function is toprovide mentoring support to distance students who are studying our TLC programme in the house.On any given day you may beproviding feedback on students' artwork, superviseing their creative progress, assessing if they have met programme requirements, or motivating them to move to the next phase of their course.You will also be required to maintain an up-to-date database of student information.
To be prosperous in this function you will be passionate about creativity and the arts and haveyour own active creative practice. We expect you to hold a tertiary level qualification in a visual arts field (or equivalent practice), or have completed at least the Diploma in Creativity (Level 6) with TLC. Any tertiary level teaching practice is a strong advantage.

Motivate and guide a group of students of diverse abilities, locations (can include international students), and communication preferences
   »
Provide significant and engaging feedback on students' work by a method best suited to their needs, e.g. phone, written, video
   »
supervise students' creative progress and assess if a student is meeting programme requirements
   »
Communicating in an open, supportive and transparent manner
this function is for 28 hours per week and located at our Taita campus in the Hutt Valley.The days and hours worked are negotiable.
