APO Connecting Producer
37.5 hours (Full-Time)

The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra (APO) is seeking a passionate and organised individual to facilitate the delivery of key aspects of the APO Connecting programme.

APO Connecting is Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra's education, community, and outreach programme which engages over 25,000 people of all ages across Auckland every year. APO Connecting brings together our professional players with schools, individuals and communities in a flagship programme that is widely applauded by educators and community leaders. Through the APO Connecting programme we inspire young musicians, connect music makers and music lovers of the present and the future, and offer concerts, workshops and tutorials for young people across all ages and ethnicities.

The function of the APO Connecting Producer will be to produce and deliver APO Connecting's core orchestral concert programme across our Community, Family and Education elements. This will include contributing ideas to programming, themes and developing relationships with partners to create wonderful concert practices for all participants. These events include Community Classics, Community Play-In, Up Close, Pese! Fasi! P?oru!, APO4Kids, APO Orchestral Summer School, as well as partnership programmes with Royal New Zealand Ballet (Musical Moves) and Royal New Opera (Little Singer). This position is also expected to contribute to the wider APO through attendance and representation at mainstage concerts as directed.

To be prosperous in this function you will need to have a passion for, and familiarity with, orchestral music; be confident in communicating with a variety of people from all walks of life, in particular artists and educators; building relationships with collaborative partners across the education and performing arts sector; and a availability to work in a flexible and dynamic work environment.

Excellent communication in all forms of spoken and written English, a solid knowledge of education processes at tertiary level music is desired and a passion for your work is essential.
