Education Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, manages the Crown’s second largest property portfolio of around 2,100 schools with a book value of $19.6 billion, the largest payroll in the country, and transportation of over 100,000 students to and from school each day.

The EIS Business Systems team works with the Ministry Information Technology Group and other stakeholders to ensure the effective, pragmatic, smart reuse and management of data, information management systems and technology across EIS. This activity supports efficiencies in BAU and new business activity as well as ensuring business information and systems are performing optimally delivering expected results and are fit for purpose.
About the function
Reporting to the Manager – Systems and Analysis, this function is responsible for the coordination of the completion of EIS Business Systems projects, managing all aspects of project scope, risks, schedule and costs.
Your key priorities will include:
   » project management
   » communication with key stakeholders
   » problem solving and collaboration
   » reports and documentation
   » providing business analysis support to the Project team as required.
About you
You will have a significant tertiary qualification and ideally two to three years’ practice in project management.
To be prosperous in this function you will have practice in the project management environment, delivering large scale projects with multiple stakeholders to time and budget. Effective leadership abilities, interpersonal and communication expertise, with the capability to mobilise others to get the project over the finishing line. A background in Business Analysis would be useful.
Ideally you will have industry recognised Project Management certification, and demonstrate achievement drive, ambition, optimism and delivery focus.
You will also offer:
   » sound business case development and approvals expertise
   » good knowledge of the procurement process including negotiation with third parties and managing the RFI/RFP process
   » the capability to hold a tight line in order to prevent scope creep, and to deliver to deadlines
   » practice in managing public sector processes, in particular the identification and management of media and other risks
   » practice developing, managing, and controlling project planning including risks, issues, changes, quality, timelines, costs, resources, interfaces and dependencies
   » practice in managing the process of gathering and analysing detailed information.
