Hi There,
We are farmers in the North Otago region of Duntroon. Its neasest main centre is Oamaru 30 minutes away and its just under 2 hours to Dunedin, 1 hour to the nearest ski fields and 30 minutes to spectacular lakes, hills and native bush - needless to say we live in a pretty special location!
This is a fulltime position that we are advertising and its a combination of helping with our two kids aged 8 and 9, and while they are at school helping to rear calves (baby cows). In regards to the kids its more about there being an adult around to get them up in the mornings, help with any homework, sort them for school and get them on the bus which is just at the end of our driveway. Then in the afternoons being there or around when they get home, maybe taking them to sports practise/games - just whats needed.  Due to their age they are pretty self reliant, so are fun and easy kids to hangout with. The area of the job where you'll be doing the most hours will be during the day looking after/feeding newborn calves (with help and training) and  all the jobs connected with this function. So if you enjoy working outside and hanging out with animals - dont mind doing some physical work this is a job you'll enjoy as its pretty compensateing at the end.  We have a grest team of people over two farms next to each other, so Information technology is a fun and social enviroment with a combination of young kiwis and backpackers. Youll be living in a fully furnised villa with two others (rent and bill's can be deducted from wages). This position starts at the begining of July and comences at the end of December - but there is room to be flexable. You will need a Full Drivers license and legally be able to work in NZ.
So if you'd like to experiance rural NZ for the first time, or have done so already and would like to give Information technology another go, we'd love to hear from you!
Thanks, Shannon & Alysha
