About our group and team
You will join The Web and Applications Services team. We provide business analysis, development and testing for priority business applications and ensure that the applications used all over the Ministry (and increasingly by many in the wider Education Sector) are reliable, high quality and available when needed. We provide resources, including staff, for projects. Once a project is delivered the Web and Applications Services team is responsible for supporting it.

In this function, you will be responsible for providing Business analysis for our various websites and applications.
Your activities will include the following:
   » knowledge the needs of our users and customers, determining the best solutions for them
   » Working closely with our stakeholders and the wider business to deliver this
   » Enjoying a modern working environment in which effort, a sense of humour and a positive attitude are highly valued
   » Work with like-minded colleagues who share information and focus on business goals
About you
As the ideal candidate, you will be a Senior Business Analyst with prior practice working as part of a web and digital team.
Ideally, you will bring the following:
   » Prior practice in gathering and analysing user requirements across different user groups and provide advice on technical and business solutions
   » practice with workshop facilitation
   » Excellent documentation expertise as well as strong verbal and written communication
   » Excellent knowledge of digital product development
   » Excellent knowledge of uscapability and accessibility principles including the NZ Govt Standards for accessibility and uscapability as well as reflective practice
   » Excellent knowledge of user centred design
   » Good knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies Scrum, Kanban, LEAN
   » Excellent relationship and communication expertise at all levels
   » Be an excellent team player who is inclusive, collaborative, supportive and a great mentor
   » The capability to demonstrate your motivations to work in an environment that is committed to benefit our education system. This includes embracing our unique and diverse society which welcomes different abilities, religious beliefs, ethnic groups, earnings levels and ideas about teaching and learning
   » The capability to understand and develop your knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi which is a critical starting point in inclusive education in Aotearoa New Zealand
