Job Opportunity: Mental Health and Addictions Advisor:HainesAttractJob description:Job DescriptionWe are currently recruiting for practiced Mental Health and Addictions Advisors to provide a range of essential services across Aotearoa.On offer is a permanent position (minimum 0.6 FTE), located within one of our call centres in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch. Atu mo te mahi – About the function This is an exciting, busy function where no two calls are the same. You will interact and provide mental health and addictions information and advice utilising different channels including phone, email, SMS and online chat. More specifically your function will involve: » counselling, assessment, intervention and support planning, referrals and risk management » working with frequent and complex callers » communicating with Service Users via phone, email, SMS and online chat » intervention and support planning, and working with people experiencing risk to help keep them safe » accurately recording client information using new technology, tools and resources » participating in continuous improvement of quality and service developments » ensuring ethical, culturally sensitive service delivery for all service users » accurately recording client information using new technology, tools and resources » participating in continuous improvement of quality and service developments » ensuring ethical, culturally sensitive service delivery for all users. Pehea koe – About you Qualifications and practice: » 12 months plus practice working in Mental Health and/or Addiction’s counselling is essential » Preferably tertiary qualification in significant field – mental health and/or addiction’s counselling, addictions papers or psychology papers » capability to manage high pressure situations and use sound judgement » Telehealth practice or face to face counselling (paid or volunteer) would be advantageous » Excellent communication expertise written and verbal » capability to quickly build rapport and adaptcapability working with varied demographics » Fluency in te reo or Pasifika languages is desirable (not essential) expertise and competence: » Demonstrate a high level of listening and communication expertise » Able to use appropriate counselling and support expertise to meet service user need » Uses sound judgement » capability to manage stressful situations effectively and work under pressure » Adaptable and resilient » Passionate about all aspects of service delivery » Recognises and addresses barriers to achieving goals » capability to work effectively with people from a range of different cultures » Able to influence and motivate others in a positive and constructive way » Demonstrate knowledge and knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in the delivery of mental health services to t?ngata whaiora/wh?nau » Knowledge of kaupapa M?ori frameworks in the mental health sector Ko wai hoki – About us Whakarongorau Aotearoa has the privilege of running free to the public, virtual health, mental health, and social services for the people of Aotearoa.
