Job Description

As part of the Chamber and Meeting Support team, you’ll support the smooth running of the institution of Parliament by making sure that MPs have everything they need while in the Chamber and, if called on, supporting the activities of Hansard and Select Committees.
Te t?ma -The team
The Office of the Clerk of the House of Representatives provides specialist administrative and advisory services to Parliament. Our Chamber and Meeting Support team works when Parliament sits, which is usually on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:00pm to 10:00pm, and Thursdays from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, for approximately 30 weeks per year (note that Parliament doesn’t usually sit during school holidays).

Chamber and Meeting Support agents provide excellent, customer focused services for the Chamber, lobbies and, when needed, to other Office of the Clerk groups. As part of the Chamber and Meeting Support team, you’ll support the smooth running of the institution of Parliament by making sure that MPs have everything they need while in the Chamber and, if called on, supporting the activities of Hansard and Select Committees.
Ng? haepapa –Responsibilities include the following:
   » Deliver excellent customer service
   » Supporting the Speaker, Presiding agents and the Clerk at the Table
   » Responding to members’ requests;
   » Supporting Office of the Clerk staff in delivery of bills, tabling of amendments, etc
   » Ensure work by the Business Continuity and Chamber Operations team is delivered to a high standard and in a timely manner
   » Distribute parliamentary papers and file in the Chamber correctly prior to the House sitting
   » Provide support to the functions of the wider Business Continuity and Chamber Team when required
T? kete –What you will bring to the function :
For this function you’ll need to demonstrate initiative, sound judgement, impartiality, and discretion. You’ll need to be a team player and also able to work independently.
The appointing income range for this function is $45,229 to $48,725 per annum. Appointments will be located on expertise and practice (please note, the full income range extends beyond this to allow for tenure progression).
