Policy Manager, Diversity and Inclusion – fixed-term for 18 months – National Office – Wellington
Our aim is to build a 21st century, people-centred justice system and Ministry of Justice.
We are working towards a justice system that will make communities safer, maintain integrity and improve responsiveness, and maintain the civil and democratic rights of all New Zealanders.

The Ministry of Justice is recruiting for a Policy Manager for our Diversity and Inclusion team, reporting to the General Manager, Civil and Constitutional Unit. The Civil and Constitutional Unit works to support a fair, free and democratic society located on the principles of equality, inclusion and the rule of law. We protect fundamental rights and freedoms, uphold constitutional norms and values, and support fair relationships between individuals.
The Diversity and Inclusion team is working to end racism in Aotearoa New Zealand with the development of this country’s first national action plan against racism. This work is a Government priority. The action plan will set out practical steps for government to take to progressively reduce racism and will provide guidance for communities, businesses and institutions to support their own solutions.
The process of developing this plan is as important as the plan itself. Information technology is being developed in partnership with the National Iwi Chairs Forum and is informed by broad community and government relationships and involvement.

income range
The appointing income for this function will be between $139,662 and $182,382 located on expertise and practice.
