The function of the Ministry of Education is to administer a range of legislative and regulatory controls, determine and deliver funding and other resources. The Ministry provides services that support the governance, management, and operation of education providers. Te Tai Raro, Te Mahau is the key interface between the Ministry of Education, Kura M?ori, Ng? K?hanga Reo, Schools and Early Learning Providers. This is a newly created, fixed term position, that will call to those with Te Ao M?ori and te Reo M?ori competency in order to actively contact with Iwi and work in support of the Strategic Advisor, M?ori. Te ?hua o Te T?runga – The nature of the position. Working closely with the Strategic Advisor M?ori and with regional staff, this function will see you support the provision of information, engagement, facilitation and brokering of support. At the core of the position is the function of administering Kaupapa M?ori funding agreements, which will see you both monitor and maintain the end-to-end process of funding agreements and contact regularly with key internal and external partners. You will also assist with ensuring milestone reporting is completed on time and accurately. We don't expect you to have all the expertise and expertise and will be investing in your core skill set in order to train you to deliver in this position. With offices located across Mt Eden, Albany, Henderson and Botany, the hours, days, and location are all open and flexible – we are highly attuned to support your individual circumstances in the best ways we can, in order to have you thrive. Reporting to the Contracts and Licensing Manager, you will be learning to develop effective working relationships and building credibility with Iwi and M?ori organisations. To do so, Information technology is expected you will have the confidence to engage effectively kanohi ki te kanohi, virtually though Teams or Zoom meetings, over the phone and via email to engage with your stakeholders. The key priority for this function is the provision of an effective, responsive service to Kaupapa M?ori internal and external partners, establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with Iwi, and maintaining professional relationships with Iwi and Education Providers. Importantly, you will be working with colleagues to support the establishment of agreements with Iwi and M?ori organisations, which in turn will support M?ori learners and wh?nau to engage or to re-engage with local education services and access education and wellbeing support. Ng? tino P?kenga/Wheako – Essential expertise/practices for the function expertise, expertise, and practice required for application include: » Fluency or a developing competency in te reo me ?na tikanga M?ori. » expertise of Tau Mai te Reo, Ka Hikitia and the implications for the education sector. » Demonstrated capability to work with high volumes of information. » capability to analyse and critique data, with a keen eye for detail is crucial. » Effective written and oral communication expertise. » Strong administration expertise and a sound service ethic. » practice in working co-operatively to deal with problems and complete tasks. » Strong organisational expertise and commitment to completing work accurately and on time. » Resilience to deal with pressure in a mature way. » Computer literacy with intermediate expertise of Excel and MS suite.
