About our group and team
Our teams around the country work closely with the Early Childhood and Schooling sectors, providers, and communities to provide support, skills and resources to help children and young people reach their full potential. We also directly provide Learning Support for around 40,000 children and young people.
The National Service Support and Guidance team ensures service and practice support and subject matter skills is available to help build system, specialist, educator and wh?nau capcapability in relation to inclusive education. The team is responsible for oversight of the national learning support practice network. The team has a strong commitment to giving practical effect to Ka Hikitia and Te Tiriti ? Waitangi to ensure positive and sustainable change for M?ori ?konga.
About this function
You will be recognised as a leading learning support practitioner with knowledge skills and practice in speech, language and deaf and hard of hearing. You will have a demonstrated capability to work strategically across specialist disciplines and collaboratively with leaders, stakeholders, educators mokapuna and wh?nau.
You will have knowledge and practice of the education sector and a commitment to giving practical effect to Ka Hikitia and Te Tiriti ? Waitangi to ensure positive and sustainable change for M?ori ?konga.
About you
To be prosperous in this function you will have the following:
   » Have a significant tertiary qualification and practical practice
   » Understand He Pikorua and evidence located practice
   » Understand education in the New Zealand context
   » Understand culturally responsive learning support that responds to the needs of M?ori ?konga, whanau and kaiako
   » Have practice providing expert guidance and the development of resources to support practice improvement
   » Have practice linking with other organisations to support the development of evidenced located best practice
   » Have excellent writing and communication skills
   » Deliver results by taking ownership, and being proactive and pragmatic

this function is permanent and full time. The function is Wellington located, however, flexible working conditions, including location, can be considered for the preferred candidate.
