The cross-agency Jobs for Nature Programme is well underway, employing and training people into nature-located work across New Zealand.
The Senior Advisor, Monitoring and Reporting, is part of a tight knit cross-agency Secretariat team tasked with coordinating across agencies involved in delivering the Programme, including to track and assess delivery progress and supporting change where needed.
The function coordinates across agencies to measure and track progress across employment and environmental indicators, delivery confidence, and provides insight into Programme investment. The function provides insights and advice, escalating matters to governance groups as needed.
You will work closely with other team members in the Secretariat, as we support each other through different workstreams as needed.

Our ideal candidate will bring:
   » practiced in monitoring, reporting, and insights
   » the capability to undertake data collection, research, surveys, investigations and data analysis and draft related reports, utilising a range of internal and external resources
   » the capability to collate and analyse data for effective stories to be conveyed to partners as part of our organisational and environmental reporting
   » practice in Microsoft Power BI (R programming language will be a bonus) and Excel lookups
   » practice delivering and/or implementing programme monitoring and reporting frameworks
   » strong conceptual and technical expertise to gain insights, and understand and advise on gaps and opportunities
   » strong capcapability in analysing qualitative and quantitative data and evidence
   » skill and preparedness to directly tackle challenging technical issues and develop innovative solutions
   » excellent communication and influencing expertise to effectively engage with key stakeholders at all levels, including the capability to clearly explain complex issues to different audiences (including non-technical experts)
   » practice working in government processes, and knowledge of different agencies systems, tools and priorities
   » flexibility, adaptcapability and strategic agility as needs and priorities change over time
   » the capability to facilitate groups of people from different organisations to work collaboratively
   » commitment to developing your cultural capcapability and capacity in te ao M?ori.
Wh?nuitanga Utu ?-Tau | income range
income range for this function is$105,802 to $128,424 pa. Appointment within this range will be located on expertise and practice.

The Jobs for Nature Secretariat is a tight knit cross-agency team hosted by the Ministry for the Environment. We coordinate across agencies to provide oversight to delivery of the Jobs for Nature Programme including through monitoring, risk, evaluation, communications and engagement workstreams. We are working across the sector to support improvements as the Programme continues to mature.
