The Auckland Co-design Lab (The Lab)has an opportunity for a Capcapability Lead. The Lab is a unique local and central government collaboration, nested inside The Southern Initiative at Auckland Council. This is an exciting function that will suit someone that wants to be a part of government and community innovation environment!
The Lab team works alongside wh?nau and communities in locality and systems partners nationally to support transformational change. The Lab's primary objective is to grow public sector capacity to work in culturally grounded, systems-orientated and Te Tiriti-located ways to advance equity and intergenerational wellbeing, andshare more power with communities.
As our Capcapability Lead you will play a core function in the direction, development and delivery of The Labs learning programmes, fostering culturally grounded innovation and systems change approaches. You will also identify strategies for dissemination of practice learning across a range of in person and online platforms with our community and government partners.
Your function will also include collaboration across external and internal teams, working with government partners to test new approaches, develop practice-located evidence and build systems learning capcapability. This includes coaching and capcapability development, maintaining relationships with community stakeholders, supporting internal, external and online communications. You will play a function in how we stay connected and share things with community and government and communities of practice we work with, as well as liaising with our governance group.

You will need to have proven practice in a design-led / social innovation / improvement / research / development evaluation capacity or similar, ideally grappling with complex social contexts and systemic issues. You will be comfortable hosting and holding different spaces and working in relational ways.
We will be looking for:
   » Demonstrated interest in social innovation, equity and Te Tiriti located approaches
   » 5 or more years' practice in a significant position
   » Someone who thrives in complexity, is systems orientated, and is comfortable moving between the big strategic picture and the careful work of enabling courageous conversations and spaces necessary for systems change
We'd love to support local candidates, and people interested in design and innovation in a wh?nau-led community setting. You'll have a passion for supporting social innovation for equity and wellbeing for M?ori and Pacific communities in South and West Auckland.
