What We are seeking for
The PCO is piloting a new training and development model for legislative drafters, and we have a great opportunity for someone who loves both the law and learning and development!
We are pursuing a new Drafting Team Manager (Development) for a fixed term of 2 years. The prosperous candidate will report to the Deputy Chief Parliamentary Counsel (Drafting) and will join an practiced and supportive team of Drafting team managers.
The Drafting Team Manager (Development) will lead a development team consisting of new legislative drafters and 2-3 practiced drafters who are dedicated to coaching and training the new drafters. A key focus of the function will be developing and implementing a 12-month training and development programme for the new drafters. The Drafting Team Manager (Development) will also have a wider function in managing professional training and development for the drafting group.

The ideal candidate will have:
   » an capability to lead and develop a team in a high-pressure, service-delivery environment
   » an inclusive and collaborative leadership abilities style
   » practice in learning and capcapability development and delivering and/or designing a training and development programme for a professional workforce
   » exemplary interpersonal expertise
   » excellent communication expertise
   » expertise of legislative and/or policy development and implementation processes
   » a commitment to building expertise, expertise, and abilities in te reo M?ori me ng? tikanga and applying this to your learning and development design.
It would be an advantage to have:
   » previous practice in prosperously managing a team of lawyers
practice in digital learning/Learning Management Systems.
