Part-time Payroll Manager

The Company
You will be part of a family owned business who are one of the largest privately owned retail groups in New Zealand. With 16 different stores and brands across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty they look after their people well. This is a company you’d want to work for.
The Job
located from the Putaruru head office, We are seeking for someone practiced in payroll as the sole payroll person in this business. Your tasks will include:
   » Checking timesheets, superviseing hours (entered via the timesheet app. TimeHub) and ensuring Manager approval.
   » Paying 70-80 full-time salaried employees, plus commission, wages for casual and part-time staff and contractors.
   » Managing benefits, one-off health claims and any other tasks related to payroll.
   » HR administration; contracts, job descriptions, policies and procedures.
The payroll takes up about 15 hours/week and with some HR admin as well, we expect this function can be done over 2-3 days and will be between 15-20 hours per week. We are very flexible with days and hours – you could build this job around your family/life. The current payroll is done using MYOB. There is also potential to add more to the function (AP & AR) to make this into a full-time position if that suits you better.
The Ideal Person
The ideal person will have good initiative and the capability to problem solve your way through tasks. Payroll practice is essential and the availability to pick up other HR and finance tasks as well. The incumbent has been in the function for 20+ years, you’ve got big shoes to fill; relicapability, trust and integrity are top of our priority list. It’s a pretty down to earth environment with good people. To fit you’ll be easy going with a fun personality.
