The Executive team is tasked with collectively embedding a new operating model and ways of working, building and managing the enterprise system that underpins the strong functioning of the organisation. Organisationally Information technology has been identified that there is a need, supported by the fundamental obligation to better recognise and to significantly improve consciousness, knowledge and delivery to M?ori. Seeking to better services to entrepreneurs and innovators and acknowledge partnership as a crown agency, a senior management position has been created to set about building internal M?ori capcapability, leading the delivery commitments under Te Tiriti o Waitangi and overarching commitments to increasing M?tauranga M?ori from the top down. Te ?hua o Te T?runga – The nature of the position The position of Chief M?ori and Government Engagement agent focuses on leading people in the development of M?ori strategy, and takes accountcapability for organisational engagement across government, building healthy and sustainable relationships that keep the organisation aligned to government priorities and building their confidence in organisational delivery. Embedding the new operating model with specific responsibilities around identified modules, this position will see you developing M?ori strategy and leading the integration of the strategic components into the Callaghan Innovation 20-year strategy. Utilising He Kai Ki Aku Ringa as guiding principles, you will spearhead delivery of enhanced services to M?ori entrepreneurs and innovators to better contribute and support the M?ori Economy. Maintaining high visibility and accessibility right across the organisation, you will take a senior leadership abilities function with customers and internal stakeholders whilst enhancing and growing relationships with iwi and hap?. Developing an internal M?ori cultural capcapability and supporting the investment in knowledge, knowledge and practice of Te Ao M?ori. Working with the Product function to ensure relevance in the product suite to M?ori entrepreneurs and innovators, you will enable contribution and support the M?ori Economy. Developing a framework for a comprehensive and cohesive government engagement strategy, you will facilitate constructive and influential engagement across government agencies, constructing tools and processes to bring heightened confidence in organisational delivery. Reporting to the CEO, this function will be a critical member of Executive team, who in turn, are responsible for developing the organisation's strategy, determining the portfolio of investments, and managing key risks. Each Executive will hold aspects of the system, and as such, the team's functions will focus on how their part connects and collaborates, so the enterprise system works, as well as ensuring each part is individually strong and contributing. Supporting the Executive and the organisation to understand M?tauranga M?ori, you will develop a clear roadmap of how you'll cultivate advances in capcapability in this space and plot the delivery of core transition accountabilities in order to deliver and embed the new operating model. Ng? tino P?kenga/Wheako – Essential expertise/practices for the function Naturally, you will have an established, and in depth knowledge of the M?ori political landscape, iwi leadership abilities, and M?ori representation, supported by your knowledge and use of te reo me ?na tikanga. Further the base practice, skill and competencies required for application are to include; » Comprehensive Executive practice at senior level of business, previous GM, or similar level practice supported by broad strategic practice. » Significant people leadership abilities practice, evidencing sound leadership abilities, people management, mentoring and coaching. » A substantial cultural competency supported by personal mana and passion for bringing about change. » In-depth knowledge of Te Reo me ?na tikanga, M?tauranga M?ori, and principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. » practice in the operational application and demonstrated practice using change management tools frameworks, and practices, desirably via a M?ori world view lens. » The practice to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders through advocacy, negotiation, and collaboration. » Excellent interpersonal and relationship building expertise, with the capability to influence at senior management level, as well as cross organisationally. » A culturally astute and agile leader, a humble spirit and empathetic focus of change and its effect on people. » Skilled in leading and managing via both strategic and operational lenses.
