Matau ropu ake – About our group and team
Te Mahau – Te Pae Aronui (Operations and Integration). We use information, insights and service design functions to help the three Te Mahau front-line groups design and deliver services for our sector. We service and support the front-line groups and play an integration function between these enabling functions and our front-line services
The Service Support team is responsible for oversight of a range of programmes and services that support akonga across Aotearoa New Zealand to be engaged and achieve in education. The team has a strong commitment to giving practical effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Ka Hikitia – Ka Hapaitia and, promoting positive and sustainable change for akonga Maori.

The Lead Advisor will work in the Service Support, Learning Support team in Te Pae Aronui, Te Mahau on the Positive Behaviour for Learning – School Wide (PB4L-SW) refresh.
The purpose of the PB4L-SW refresh is to strengthen the PB4L-SW framework so that Information technology is reflective of the New Zealand education sector today, and best practice from an international perspective.
Working with key stakeholders, the Lead Advisor will be a key member of the PB4L-SW refresh project team. In conjunction with the Project Manager of the refresh, they will be responsible for the effective development and delivery of key work stream products as outlined in the refresh project plan.
The income band for this function is $92,598 – $113,175 depending on expertise and practice.

To be prosperous in the function, you’ll be working collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders, including developing relationships at senior levels. significant tertiary qualification or equivalent level of practical practice is required.
You will have the following:
   » Excellent communication (written and verbal) and relationship building expertise
   » Proficient organisational expertise including capability to prioritise and attention to detail
   » practice of working in a government agency with a sound knowledge of the machinery of government
   » knowledge of public sector delivery structures and system challenges of delivering targeted programmes in vulnerable communities.
You will also offer the following:
   » practice of working in flexible ways to manage moving priorities and deliver results in a busy demanding environment
   » Demonstrated capability and practice of working effectively within a political environment
   » Demonstrated capability as a clear communicator who is confident to test ideas and concepts with others
   » practice working positively and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
   » The capability to see the big picture and recognise and manage connected risks and opportunities across a wide variety of situations
   » knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi and its implications for the work of the Ministry
   » capability to develop effective working relationships and builds credibility with team members, and colleagues in Learning Support and across the Ministry and with external stakeholders
   » Proven practice in delivering results by taking ownership and being proactive and pragmatic
