This Senior Policy Analyst function sits in the M?ori Policy and Strategy team in the M?ori Health Directorate at the Ministry of Health. As a Senior Policy Analyst, you will have practice in leading and developing quality policy advice. You will understand how systems work and be up to the challenge of improving health results for M?ori within a complex and challenging health and discapability system. M?ori health policy is guided by Whakamaua: M?ori Health Action Plan 2020-2025 and He Korowai Oranga: M?ori Health Strategy. To be prosperous in this function you will have the following: » A passion for making a difference » A good knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in public policy development » practice in applying the full policy process lifecycle » Confidence to work, contribute and foster Te Ao M?ori perspectives in policy development » A good knowledge of the machinery of government » Track record of writing for policy purposes including in plain language and for ministerial audiences » capability to develop productive and trusting relationships with colleagues and stakeholders » Can do attitude and strong self-directed work ethic As a senior member of the M?ori health strategy and policy team, you will be a welcomed contributor to the M?ori Health Directorate work programme that shares a deep commitment to achieving better M?ori health and well-being results. You will be happy to share your expertise and practice as well as support other team members develop theirs.
