The Social Media Coordinator has the responsibility for managing NZIFF's social media channels, ensuring information is current and always significant for our audiences. These are currently (but are not limited to) Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn. The function will work closely with the Communications and Marketing Manager, Online Content Coordinator and Publicists to ensure a consistent tone and message is applied to all social media content.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / NG? TAKOHANGA
   » Monitor and maintain NZIFF's social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn)
   » Establish systems for Promotions Team members to effectively provide content for use on social media
   » In conjunction with the Communications and Marketing Manager, develop social media content calendar which includes overall marketing plan objectives, sponsor and partnership obligations and paid social media activity
   » Deliver social media plan effectively ensuring information is accurate, significant and interesting and grows engagement with NZIFF's social media platforms
   » Manage social media content from other members of the Promotions Team
   » Proactively seek ideas and copy for content for social media platforms
   » In consultation with Communications and Marketing Manager, contact with venues and ticketing agencies to create and deliver paid social media strategies
   » In consultation with Communications and Marketing Manager, and other NZIFF staff as required, respond to social media queries/comments
   » Roster Promotions Team staff to cover social media during busy periods and ensure queries are responded to promptly
   » Assist the Online Content Coordinator with the loading of the website
   » Provide social media content in correct formats (stills, copy and video) to ticketing agencies and venues
   » Work with the Audience Development Coordinator to deliver campaigns targeting niche markets/special interest groups
   » Manage the editing of recorded Q&As / masterclasses for use on social media and uploading to YouTube
REQUIRED expertise AND practice / NG? PUKENGA
   » Advanced practice and knowledge of social media platforms, in particular Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
   » Advanced practice in managing social media advertising campaigns including Facebook, Instagram and Google advertising.
   » Advanced practice in creating effective social media ads.
   » Proven practice effectively managing budget spend
   » practice creating and delivering social media plans to meet the objectives of the organisation
   » practice in monitoring and reporting social media analytics
   » Computer Literacy: Advanced expertise using Hootsuite, Facebook Business Manager and other social media platforms, Intermediate expertise using Adobe Photoshop or Canva, video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro preferred), Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook and practice using project management, scheduling or CRM software/platforms.
   » Demonstrated copywriting expertise for both formal and informal online communication
   » Highly effective verbal and interpersonal communication expertise
   » Effective research expertise
   » Highly organised with attention to detail and capability to meet tight deadlines
   » practice working autonomously and as part of a team
   » Able to work effectively under pressure
   » Positive and outgoing attitude
   » A strong interest in, and knowledge of, film industry and culture is an advantage
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a full-time contract position for the period of 23 August to 26 November 2021 and is located either in Auckland or Wellington.
