Film Logistics adjunct:Job description:Job detailsOrganisation New Zealand International Film Festival Closes 13 Aug 2021 Posted on 6 Aug 2021 Region Wellington Work type Full time employment, Fixed Term Work classification Technical Staff & Logistics ShareThe Film Logistics adjunct provides assistance to the Film Logistics Manager in the accurate coordination, collation and distribution of film data and scheduling, and the efficient collection and delivery of screening materials, to ensure all festival screenings nationwide proceed as planned.The key responsibility of this function is to assist with the completion of all film logistics processes and outputs including: Film Data and Logistics » Input into the festival database containing all films' technical and screening information. » contact with programmers, rightsholders and other festivals to determine and collate all technical information for each film including all significant inbound and outbound movements to be managed. » Assist with the collection and forwarding of all screening material (films and related content), equipment, and other items to/from local and international rightsholders, NZIFF and festival venues. Scheduling » Assist with the production and coordination of scheduling tools for the programming team. » Assist with the film schedule (completed by programming) to ensure Information technology is practicable, logistically achievable, and technically possible in each venue. » Input confirmed schedules into a database and assist with the schedule proofing process. Information Management » Prepare and distribute scheduling and technical information to NZIFF and venue teams. » Utilising existing tools, generate and format scheduling data for use in publications. » Compile venue and rightsholder schedule confirmations of confirmed screening times. » Assist with proofing technical information for NZIFF publications Screening Materials » Assist with the coordination of downloading, duplication, and despatch of screening material via external suppliers. » Request Key Delivery Messages (KDMs) from rightsholders for all encrypted content. » contact with venues to ensure Digital Cinema Packages (DCPs) are tested and preloaded onto servers as required, and KDMs are received and functional. REQUIRED expertise AND practice » Computing Literacy: Advanced expertise in Excel and intermediate expertise in other Microsoft Office software, as well as Dropbox and Google suite » Absolute accuracy in data entry and information management » Confident in a technical environment, be tech-savvy and able to become quickly acquainted, and work with, technical terminology and equipment » capability to work under pressure, identify and effectively manage own stress » Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication expertise » Excellent time management, organisational and multi-tasking expertise with high attention to detail Ideally, the prosperous candidate would also have: » A good knowledge of freight movement, both national and international » practice working in festival or event production and delivery, or a similar environment » practice with film exhibition equipment and procedures, particularly digital cinema and projection Term of Employment this function begins as a 0.75 function (30 hours/per week) from 23 August to 3September and then is a full time function until 19November 2021.
