Our mission is to connect New Zealand audiences with short films and share New Zealand short films with the world. We do this primarily by organising a film festival that screens a selection of the best short films from Aotearoa and around the world each spring. The festival takes place in cinemas nationwide. Additionally, we run a number of workshops, training programmes and special events all over the year relating to short film, and fostering filmmaking talent in Aotearoa.This is a project-located contract function. We require someone to run our pilot-test for a new educational resource we are developing for upper primary and intermediate teachers learning how to make short films with their students. The ideal applicant will have both teaching and filmmaking practice. The function will be part-time from 6 April until 20 August, with the main teaching part of the project running on Fridays during Term 2, and everyday during week 2 of the July school holidays. A detailed report will be required at the conclusion of the project with recommendations for developing Information technology further.
