The organisation exists to provide the industry with leadership abilities and direction by: • Ensuring that their code is effectively administered. • Determining its strategic direction; and • Ensuring its health and competitiveness with other sports and entertainment options. The organisation is also responsible for developing all industry training programmes in New Zealand and operates several dedicated apprentice schools across the country. Their challenge is to make sure that everything they do meets one simple test - what is best for the New Zealand industry. The function The Accounts Administrator is a member of the Finance team and plays a pivotal function in the support of all administration services such as accounts payable, receivable and settlements. The primary function will be to supervise the accounts payable function. this function will support other key functions such as settlements made through the in-house accounting system On Account, accounts payable, monthly journals and reporting conducted through the accounting system Technology One. Required expertise includes: • Basic accounting expertise • Data entry • Attention to detail • Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal expertise • Identifying and reporting risks You’ll have proven practice in establishing and maintaining stakeholder relations and have a high level of customer service expertise. You must be an organised and have strong analytical abilities. In this function you’ll be expected to undertake any general finance tasks, as directed by the Finance Team Leader. tasks • Ensure all payments to customers are process in a timely manner and are approved in conformity with the Financial Delegations Policy. • Process all credit card and cheque payments and report on expenses made through this medium as requested. • Complete the tax returns of all company entities as directed by the Finance Team Leader as well as complete bank reconciliations for all company bank accounts. expertise & practice • Recent practice in New Zealand in a similar function • Capable user of Microsoft Office (Intermediate level expertise Excel and Word) • Previous practice with Technology One products will be an advantage What’s on offer: An opportunity to grow and extend your expertise and practices in a not-for-profit organisation with likeminded individuals.
