Reporting to the General Director, the Director Finance & Administration is a member of the Senior leadership abilities Team specifically responsible for managing all financial, human resource, Information technology and risk management functions of New Zealand Opera, ensuring the Company complies with New Zealand Law, accounting standards, and administers best practice and procedures to achieve the Company's Purpose, Vision, Values and Goals. We are seeking for a candidate with practice in the following areas: » At least five years accounting practice in a senior finance function, preferably in a cultural or not-for-profit organisation, with a significant qualification in accounting » Well-developed accounting, budgeting, and problem-solving expertise » Proven expertise in detailed data analysis, report writing and presentation » Proven capability to develop efficient and effective systems and processes » availability to be flexible, adaptable, and can contribute at a strategic level » Excellent interpersonal expertise and the capability to understand and respond to the needs of internal and external clients » Proven capability to work to a very high standard of accuracy and attention to detail in a busy environment » An capability to lead and manage HR, Information technology and risk management functions. » Advanced expertise in the use of accounting and payroll systems, Microsoft Office 365, as well as the capability to quickly lgain new software programmes » capability to deal with confidential information using discretion and judgement » A basic knowledge and acknowledgement of the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Te Ao M?ori and te reo M?ori is a welcome advantage for the position » An appreciation of opera and/or performing arts is also an advantage If you are a highly motivated and positive individual who would love to contribute to the future of opera in Aotearoa while working for New Zealand's national opera company, we would love to hear from you.
