As part of Te Arotake I te Anamata m? Ng? Kaunihera – The Future for Local Government Review you will have the opportunity to contribute to the kaupapa that is considering how NewZealand's system of local democracy and governance will need to evolve over the next 30 years, in order to improve the wellbeing of NewZealanders, and actively embody the Treaty partnership.
The function sits within a Secretariat supporting an Independent Panel who are leading the Review.
The Advisor/ Senior Advisor Engagement Iwi/M?ori will support the delivery of a work stream that will enable the creation of a future system of local governance that has an authentic and mutually beneficial relationship with iwi/hap? and local government, that actively embodies Te Tiriti. Working in the Secretariat supporting an independent panel, you will work with others to identify and assesses options that look at what local government does, how Information technology does it, and how Information technology pays for it. This will include function, functions and partnerships,representation and governance, and funding and financing for improved system results.
To be prosperous in this function you will bring your practice and critical thinking to support significant engagement with iwi/ hap? and M?ori. You will be comfortable collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders including iwi/ hap?, local government and central government. You will deliver excellent results, through project management, innovation, and engagement, which align with the strategic objectives of the Review. You will have strong written and oral communication expertise. Proficiency in te reo and tikanga would be beneficially but not a requirement. You will use excellent judgement to adjust your engagement approaches as required.
