Te Poutahu (Curriculum)sets the system-level learning for every child and student. The Office of the Deputy Secretary supports Senior Management; facilitating effective communication processes with Ministry Senior leadership abilities and Ministers’ Offices, and leading planning and reporting processes.
This Advisor function sits within the Governance, Commissioning and Ministerials
team within the Office of the Deputy Secretary. This team is s is responsible for the efficient commissioning and co-ordination of quality and timely Ministerials, Te Poutahu advice to support cross Ministry requests and wider information of Te Poutahu governance requests as they arise.

This is an ideal function for a confident and capable Coordinator/Administrator looking to take their next step. You will work as part of a small, agile and responsive team that are responsible for the efficient commissioning and co-ordination of quality and timely ministerials and information requests across Te Poutahu.
In any given day the team processes correspondence, Official Information Act requests, information requests from Ministers, written and oral parliamentary questions, media queries, select committee questions and Estimates and Annual Review material.
In addition to this BAU work, the team is also responsible for delivering high quality and timely advice to the Deputy Secretary and the teams within the Business Group, to achieve strategic and operational objectives.

   » practice working with subject matter experts, members of senior leadership abilities and Ministers’ Offices
   » skills in parliamentary processes, the Machinery of Government and the Official Information Act
   » The capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga
