Job Opportunity: Packhouse Staff:Job description:Packhouse StaffPayment: Paid Position ($21.20)Job location: Ohaupo Region: Waikato/Coromandel practice: No practice Necessary Listing Added: 29/09/2022 The function and the Person As the blueberry season is fast approaching, we are on the hunt for fixed term Packhouse workers (4-6 months of work). We are pursuing quick learners, and candidates who are willing to complete a wide variety of different general Packhouse tasks. this function will have varying shifts and hours available, and the work could be 6 days a week, starting in November. Who is Blueberry Country? Blueberry Country is a family-owned business located in Ohaupo in the Waikato. We have established Orchards in Ohaupo, Ngatea, Otautau (Southland) and have an orchard under development in Waipu (Northland). We are New Zealand’s largest holder of Blueberry land with 750 acres (300+ hectares) currently in production. Our head office and main processing facilities are located just 20 minutes south of Hamilton, and the blueberries are grown, harvested, frozen and packed all on site. We also run Pick Your Own (PYO) and café operations through the summer across all our existing orchards. Blueberry Country will turn 40 in 2022, not a bad effort for a business started on marginal land. Primary tasks and Responsibilities As a Packhouse worker, your responsibilities will cover: » Grading, packing, and storing produce according to market requirements. » Assembling packaging and crates. » Checking the quality of produce. » Other tasks as required.
