Calf Rearing could be for you.... We are pursuing a calf rearer to join our team for around 8 weeks from late July to mid September for the busy calving season. The function involves feeding and caring for calves, cleaning equipment and other general farm tasks. You would be joining a reliable team of practiced people and would be working in a team with 2 other calf rearers. Our 700 cow farm is located near Temuka, South Canterbury. Temuka is 20 minutes from Timaru, 1.45 hours from Tekapo and less than 2 hours from Christchurch. While practice on a dairy farm is not essential, we require someone who is physically fit, can work outside and enjoys caring for animals. A good level of English is required for this function. An on-farm furnished 3-bedroom house can be provided. This would be shared with 2 other travelling friends for the calving season. As this is a fixed and short-term position, we require someone who already has a right to work Visa, IRD number and is currently in NZ. You will also need a Drivers license.
