About our group and team Our teams around the country work closely with the Early Childhood and Schooling sectors, providers, and communities to provide support, skills and resources to help children and young people reach their full potential. We also directly provide Learning Support for around 40,000 children and young people. We are a close knit team that work together to achieve high quality products to support the wider business to provide the best service to the sector. About this function You will work as part of the Business Analysis and Systems team, supporting each other through problem definition, solution resolution and peer reviews. The team provides analysis and advice on a range of school or student located programmes to regional and national Ministry teams through the collection, collation and analysis of data from across the education sector. You will produce one-off or repeatable solutions to questions by manipulating large and complex data sets. The function includes developing and reporting on indicators of performance, analysing and monitoring trends. You will be skilled in helping others interpret the information available and in turn be able to understand their information requirements and plan for this as part of the continuing reporting improvement process. About you We’re looking for someone who: » can demonstrate strong problem solving and analytical skills » has advanced Excel skills and may has at least two years practice using either SAS/SQL/BOXI » can communicate their ideas effectively » has excellent attention to detail and time management » shows initiative and enjoy new challenges » the capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga » has an knowledge of quality assurance and self/peer-review practices » has knowledge of Microsoft Word and databases Are you ready to make a difference?
