The trauma team is seeking someone who brings practice in applying quality improvement expertise, expertise, techniques and tools to transform processes and systems in a healthcare context. The prosperous candidate will work on some exciting initiatives. These include improving pathways of care for serious traumatic brain injury and scale-up projects that have been shown to improve practices and results in rehabilitation from major trauma. There will also be opportunities to engage broadly in key activities of the Commission and the National Trauma Network. The prosperous candidate will have exceptional interpersonal and communication expertise, and a proven capability to build strong collaborative working relationships and operate comfortably within a changing and developing environment. this function is uniquely positioned to work nationally and in partnership with Commission staff, health providers, academics, consumers and clinicians to identify and support key areas of focus for system-wide improvement design, implementation and evaluation. Although not a requirement, the prosperous candidate will have some trauma, ED or ICU practice. The Health Quality & Safety Commission is a stand-alone Crown entity with a Board responsible to the Minister of Health. The Commission is responsible for assisting providers across the whole health and discapability sector, both private and public, to improve service safety and quality and therefore results for all those who use these services in New Zealand.
