Job Description

Goldie Estate is the name of our boutique vineyard and winery, nestled amongst 30 acres of native bush and rolling vineyards on Waiheke Island overlooking Putiki Bay. It's here that we create handcrafted wines full of character that draw on the expertise and practice of Kim and Jeanette Goldwater, who founded wine growing on Waiheke in 1978.
Our commercial team, led by Heinrich Storm, continue their philosophy of nurturing and continually improving our established vineyards. Our Waiheke vineyard produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Chardonnay and Viognier varieties.
The Estate is also home to the University of Auckland's Wine Science Centre which aims to continue the innovative spirit of the Goldwater family. The programme provides a unique learning practice for the students to be immersed in a fully operational winery.

Job Description

To meet short-term staffing needs,Goldie Estate is seeking to employ a seasonal casual staff member. Hours will be changeable as agreed with the line manager of the function.
Seasonal vineyard work including but not limited to the following tasks:
1. Bird scaring
2. Net maintenance
3. Fruit thinning
4. Grape sorting
5. Grape harvest
6. Net removal
7. Miscellaneous vineyard and property maintenance
8. Tucking
9. Shoot thinning
10. Shoot positioning

To be considered for this function, you must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid New Zealand work visa. Preferably you will also need to be located on Waiheke Island.
