About the function

   » We are seeking for someone who has exceptional data analysis expertise, good practice utilising SQL and SAS reporting and an knowledge of Power BI.
   » You'll be able to build strong relationships both internally and externally through your exceptional communications expertise and be passionate about making a difference.
As a Data and Insights Analyst you'll use your expertise to deep dive into data analytics, then translate this complex information into clear and easy to understand significant insights. You'll provide high quality data, modelling, reports and insights, while identifying any key risks and opportunities with existing reporting and processes that involve data and insights, so our teams get the very best data to make informed business decisions.

About You

   » You'll be pretty good a using a range of analytical tools such as SQL, SAS and Excel for data modelling and support
   » Some practice with Google Analytics 360, Google Data Studio and Power BI would be great but not essential
   » You'll have practice working with predictive analytics and a good knowledge of how to build sustainable data and modelling frameworks
   » You'll be able to switch things up moving comfortably from big picture thinking to getting down into the day to day detail
   » You'll have demonstrated agility in responding to changes in priorities
   » You'll have an insightful and proactive approach to work and be quick to grasp new ideas and concepts
   » You'll have good written and oral communication expertise and be able to translate complex data into plain English
   » Exposure to project and programme methodologies such as Prince2, MSP and SAFe Agile would be an advantage but not essential

Our Work

Te Ara Manaaki is working to make Information technology easier for customers to access our services and connect with government. Through modernising and future proofing our technology and improving how information is shared with partners, services will be delivered in a more joined up, effective way providing digital self-service options to customers and other agencies. This work includes:

Passports and Citizenship

Our new customer centred management system is the basis for us to deliver easy to access, integrated, consistent services across multiple government agencies. We're now expanding service and product offerings such as helping families apply for their first passports with a single application.

Civil Registration

Our customers can already order birth, death and marriage certificates and apply for some services online. It's time for an upgrade so we're modernising and future proofing our technology and improving how information is shared and kept secured.
