Korero mo te turanga – About the function
TeHerenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Personal adjunct to the Director of Te Tatai Hauora o Hine – The National Centre for Womens Health Research Aotearoa, on a fixed-term contract of one year, 0.5 FTE (part-time hours).
The function will be responsible for supporting the Director (Professor Bev Lawton) and a busy team in a specialist centre of health researchers Monday to Friday (morning hours preferable). This includes providing everyday administrative support to the Director, and on-site support to centre visitors and engagements.
Key Job responsibilities:
   » Manage the Directors calendar and correspondence
   » Support efficient meetings for the Director (organising, agenda setting, minute taking etc)
   » Provide and edit documents for the Director
   » Provide on-site support to centre staff and visitors
   » contact with other university staff, Kaumatua and external stakeholders
   » Provide administrative support to the research programme Manaaki te iti Kahurangi, as directed by the Director Professor Bev Lawton, and Deputy Director Francesca Storey

You will be a motivated individual with a warm manner, strong attention to detail, and self-management expertise.
You will listen to and understand the needs of the Director, display a professional, courteous, and empathetic approach.
You will effectively plan and organise work to achieve desired results; be proactive and take action to overcome obstacles and follow through to completion. You will have the capability to remain calm under pressure.
You will clearly and concisely communicate with a wide variety of people in all situations, both orally and in writing; effectively listen; understand cultural differences in communication and consider equity and diversity issues in interactions.

   » Proficient in the use of MS Office; Word, Excel PowerPoint and MS Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint

   » An adaptive can do approach and an capability to tackle a variety of tasks
