We work to ensure current and up to date conditions of employment are in place for people working in schools and kura around the country. We are a small but focused team of specialists who work closely with schools, education sector unions, and peak bodies to set conditions and resolve employment relations challenges within the education sector About this function The Adviser, Employment Relations will be accountable, as a key member of the Employment Relations team, for preparation, undertaking and implementation of planning to ensure the Ministry's employment relations approach will deliver for learners, support staff, teachers and education leaders. This will involve making a contribution to related work programmes and working closely with Ministry colleagues and stakeholders to ensure bargaining results strongly support government policy objectives for education. You will also be responsible for supporting the management of issues which require the provision of specialist employment relations advice. About you You will have practice working in an employment relations and/or industrial relations in a large and complex organization. You will also have the following: » An interest in developing and implementing bargaining strategies and plans that encompass a broad spectrum of communications activities » The capability to work across a number of workstreams, and operate in an ever-changing environment » Relationship management expertise – the capability to influence and advise senior leaders, identify key communications issues, and deliver significant services » The capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga Are you ready to make a difference?
