Fixed-term, part-time – 12 months 64 hours per fortnight (0.8 FTE) We’re looking for a M?ori Registered Midwife to join our team in Hawke’s Bay Maternity on a fixed-term basis in an exciting new function. You will work four days per week providing expert clinical consultation and breastfeeding support for our M?ma and Wh?nau in the community from birth to 6 weeks. we At Presentprovide excellent care to approximately 2,000 women and their wh?nau annually, and this function will work to further improve access to care and reduce inequities in breastfeeding success for our M?ori and Pacific Island families. You will be supported in this work by strong ties to both the Maternity and M?ori Health Departments. Hawke’s Bay Maternity is recognised nationally as providing innovative programs to improve maternal and infant health and wellbeing. In addition to our main secondary care birthing facility, we’re the only DHB in New Zealand with a co-located Primary Birthing Unit. Last year 700 women benefited from our purpose-built contemporary home away in the house facilities. With this incredible facility we’re able to actively support and encourage women to birth naturally. We pride ourselves on clinical excellence and we’ll support you to achieve the same.
