About our group and team The Ministry’s multi-award-winning Internal Audit and Assurance team is strongly focused on making a difference to the organisation’s priority results. Our primary purpose is to provide the leadership abilities Team with timely assurance and strategically significant insights on the Ministry’s operations, and initiatives. Auditing for results is not prescriptive or straight forward, but this approach is how we add real-time value that makes a difference. About this function We have an opportunity for a Change Assurance Principal to join our highly motivated Internal Audit and Assurance team. this function will put your client and improvement-oriented capabilities to good use. You will be working in a team that has mandate to execute or facilitate the delivery of purposeful and high impact assurance engagements for strategically important projects and initiatives. You will help us in our function of providing confidence to stakeholders that: » risk-located assurance plans are in place and executed at agreed milestones to enable effective stage gating and inform decision-making for business owners and governors » changes to business process, including system-enabled activities, maintain effective internal control » lessons learned from assurance engagements informs project management practice improvements. You will have ample opportunity to establish and build enduring trusted advisor relationships with senior management and their assurance stakeholders through genuinely collaborative interactions and constructive assurance engagements. Your prior practice in risk consulting, internal control design, project assurance or change management will be in demand and highly valued. About you We are seeking for a talented individual with proven expertise and practice (ideally at least years post-graduate) in public sector, complex commercial organisations or professional services firms. Our ideal candidate will be proficient and practiced in the following: » Project management » Independent quality assurance and/or ICT delivery » Business process design or controls assurance » Risk assurance or internal auditing You should also be the following: » Eligible to work in New Zealand » Professionally qualified in a significant discipline such as Prince2 Practitioner, PMP, CIA, CISA » Personally effective with strong interpersonal and persuasive expertise » A great communicator with plain English writing expertise » Team oriented but self-driven » Proficient in leading audit engagements and staff Are you ready to make a difference?
