Legal adjunct – Law Graduates:HainesAttractJob description:Job Description»Fixed-term (until January 2023)»Full-time »Te Whanganui a Tara (Wellington) or T?maki Makaurau »(Auckland) – we’ll be flexible for the right candidate Due to a continued increase in workloads and internal promotions, we have an excellent opportunity for graduates of law looking to develop their career and join the Royal Commission. The prosperous candidate will be passionate about public law and have a keen interest in advising decision makers on complex investigations. As a Legal adjunct, you will undertake information and evidential analysis and document management, contribute to the preparation of public hearings, and otherwise provide support to the Public Hearings and Investigations team and Counsel Assisting. Success will be largely in your capability to work as part of a high performing team, you will need to work with Public Hearings and Investigations team and wider Commission members to achieve common goals. In addition, you will: » assist with the management of information and evidence received during the inquiry » assist with the application of the General Restriction Order and section 15 orders to documentary evidence » assist with the interview of witnesses and the preparation of witness statements, including analysis of statements as required » assist with the analysis of evidence and information received by the investigation, including through Relativity » work effectively to provide other support to other members of the Public Hearings and Investigations team, Counsel Assisting, Commissioners and Secretariat staff, as required by Solicitor Assisting and the Senior Legal Advisor » complete regular reporting to the Solicitor Assisting and Senior Legal Advisor. practice required : » Bachelor of Law Degree (LLB) required » Excellent analytical expertise with high attention to detail » Excellent written and verbal communication expertise » capability to manage own time, and prioritise tasks effectively, located on the needs of the Royal Commission » Resilience – Copes with stress and challenges, can quickly bounce back from adversity or challenges » Self-consciousness – Has an knowledge of own feelings, sense inner signals, and recognises how your feelings affect you and your performance About us The Royal Commission of Inquiry into Historical Abuse in State Care and in the Care of Faith-located Institutions was established in February 2018 and is investigating the abuse and neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults who were in the care of state and faith-located institutions in New Zealand between 1950 and 1999.
