At Te T?huhu o te M?tauranga – Ministry of Education we work with the sector and provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ?konga and wh?nau. We shape the policies, settings and performance of the education system for early learning, schooling and tertiary. We are making significant changes to how we deliver our purpose so that we: » deliver greater responsiveness, accessibility and integrated services and support » take practical action to give effect to te Tiriti o Waitangi » give priority to sector relationships, regional and local voice. We are redesigning Te T?huhu o te M?tauranga – Ministry of Education and establishing Te Mahau within Information technology as a strong, service-oriented interface with the education sector. You will provide executive assistance that supports the Deputy Secretary, as a member of the senior leadership abilities team, to guide Te T?huhu through this change. About our group and team The Early Learning and Student Achievement Group sets the system-level learning for every child and student. Working between policy and customer facing functions, there is a significant political, stakeholder and public interest in the high performance of this group and the education curriculum and teaching workforce results we seek for New Zealand. It’s an exciting time to work in the Group. We’re implementing Te Pout?h? – a new curriculum centre as part of Te Mahau, that will change how we interact with and support schools. The Deputy Secretary is part of the Ministry’s Senior leadership abilities team, and this function sits within the Office of the Deputy Secretary. About this function We are seeking for an practiced and highly motivated Executive adjunct to support our Deputy Secretary, Early Learning and Student Achievement. this function provides administrative and executive support enabling the Deputy Secretary to provide leadership abilities to the group to help shape an education system that delivers equitable and excellent results. The function entails full executive management support such as diary and workflow management, advice, administrative and planning support. As part of the Office of the Deputy Secretary team, you will join a group of highly capable and supportive colleagues who are actively contributing to the future of tamariki all over New Zealand. About you You will have proven significant practice relative to the function and have a professional attitude. You will be an practiced, confident and competent Executive adjunct who knows what Information technology takes to support a Senior Leader. You will have practice with diary and email management, travel bookings and logistics management. You will also have practice taking minutes, analysing and disseminating information to others, preparing papers for the Deputy Secretary and working with others to assist in managing work required by the Deputy Secretary and the ELSA leadership abilities team. You will also offer: » practice supporting a senior leader » Strong verbal and written communication expertise » advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, specifically in-depth knowledge using Outlook and the capability to triage emails » practice booking travel, organising conferences/ events and related requirements » The capability to prioritise and manage several competing tasks » Attention to detail and excellent time management and organisational expertise » Resilience to deal with pressure in a professional manner » capability to deal with ambiguity and maintain resilience in a constantly changing environment » The capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
