You will split your time between two programmes – mental health and addiction quality improvement and advance care planning. You will lead the stakeholder and communications for the two programmes, working closely with both teams. This will include developing and implementing communications and engagement strategies, media management, drafting articles, ensuring webpages relating to the programmes are up to date, developing resources and managing campaigns. You will be joining a small but extremely busy (and fun!) Wellington-located communications team. We are seeking for someone who: » can work with minimal supervision » is a social media whizz, with strong practice in the use of social media as part of an overall communications strategy » proactively takes the lead on new projects, develops work plans and considers new and innovative ways to do things » can foresee and identify obstacles, and proactively find ways to overcome them, alerting other parties as required » can plan and prioritise well, and deliver tasks to a high standard and on time » can manage relationships and balance the different demands and priorities of both programmes » can support the use of plain English and the Commission’s communications standards » has a good knowledge of the Crown’s responsibilities to M?ori under Te Tiriti o Waitangi and of current health, social and economic issues for M?ori in Aotearoa/New Zealand » has practice working with M?ori and Pacific media » has at least three years’ practice in a communications function at an intermediate level » has demonstrated capability to think clearly and with good judgement about communication issues.
