The function is aimed to allow training and practice in a theatre management function and to gain insight and practice into planning, management and marketing in a professional theatre. The Associate Director will grow, design and develop education opportunities to further our vision at Centrepoint Theatre. The Associate Director will lead the Arts Outreach arm of the Theatre having the opportunity to develop new education ventures and upgrade current programmes. tasks and Responsibilities Lead our Education Programmes » To adhere to the vision of Centrepoint Theatres education/outreach programme » Maintain, design and lead the education offerings for each year » Design and manage the holiday programmes for each year » Develop new education offerings for our communities » Develop relationships and opportunities in neighboring regions » Grow and maintain detailed documentation around these programmes » Lead and assist in marketing of all education offerings Lead the Basement Company » Design the programme for the Basement Youth Company for the year » Engage professional tutors to extend the company » Mentor the students and ready them for auditions » Direct the Basement shows » Monitor the curriculum and keep detailed records for reporting » Lead and assist in all marketing of Basement Company events Other Have input into the season programme alongsidethe Artistic Director/General Manager. Be present & active in discussions on programming, budget and marketing. Qualifications/Training The candidate will have completed a tertiary qualification in performing arts from a recognized training establishment or have a minimum of 3 to 5 years practice in working in the professional arts Industry. They will have already led several productions as a director/producer in at least a semi professional level (working with trained performers, or co-op or large scale resources). Only permanent residents of Australia or New Zealand, or those who have the right to work in Australiaor New Zealand may apply. Working conditions this function will require working at different times of the day and night. Information technology is expected that the person manages their time accordingly and responsibly and communicates openly with their direct manager. You will be expected to attend weekly team meetings. Travel to other regions is expected as you grow the relationships and offerings.
