At the Department of Internal Affairs, Service Delivery and Operations branch, we are the face of DIA. H?pai Hapori - Community Operations supports iwi, hap? and communities to lead their own development.This is a great opportunity for a highly self-motivated Community Advisor to join our high performing team located in Lower Hutt, Wellington.
As a Community Advisor your key function is to engage with Hapu, Iwi, Communities and stakeholders to provide information and advice and connect them with the resources they need to meet their aspirations. Travel is involved, and a driver’s licence is essential.
Key to your success will be a proven capability to work alongside Hapu, Iwi, and Communities to enable them to become resilient and achieve their own aspirations. You will also have practice working with diverse communities and your customer service ethic will underpin all that you do.
You will have a professional attitude and be able to evidence:
   » public service integrity
   » strong communication expertise – written and oral
   » proven expertise, expertise and practice in providing advice that builds and empowers the communities, hapu, iwi, marae and voluntary organisations
   » excellent relationship management and collaboration expertise
   » data analysis and analytical expertise including the capability to interpret financial information
   » practice in online grant management
   » practice in assessing organisational performance and providing advice to community and voluntary organisations
   » capability to plan, organise and manage work effectively to meet multiple deadlines
   » capability to rapidly adapt in a changing environment.
You will also:

Your background might include a combination of:
   » Hap? or Community-led development practice
   » Community Advisory or Community Practitioner practice
   » Previous secretariat or funding practice in the Private or Public Sectors
   » Other significant practice
