New Zealand Blood Service (NZBS), a Crown entity has sole responsibility for collecting, processing and distributing blood for transfusion in New Zealand. Information technology also manages broad tissue banking facilities and is the national agency responsible for organ donation. The Opportunity Reporting to the Director Digital Technology & Information the Business Applications Manager is responsible for managing the strategy, development and day to day operations of Cloud solutions, business systems and business intelligence services. Leading a team of Data, Applications Support and Business Analysts you will champion the strategy for Cloud adoption for business systems, business applications and business intelligence and work with Governance groups to ensure systems are aligned with business priorities. You will have responsibility for the portfolio of business applications systems ranging from major corporate systems such as finance and CRM to small niche systems, including patching and upgrades, and will support the development and maintenance of BI systems to provide billing data and a range of reporting and insights for the business. You will also manage or support significant new projects from scoping through to delivery and manage the development of new solutions such as in data analysis and manage the integration of systems for new services coming into the organisation. You will work closely with the infrastructure and blood management system teams and contact with management and staff across NZBS nationally and maintain relationships with key software vendors to ensure business needs and service levels are met. The Ideal Candidate You will have solid Information technology practice in day-to-day operations of Cloud solutions and business systems management, including systems implementations and end-to-end project management. With 10+ years Information technology practice, you will have a broad knowledge of commercial software systems, and a strong knowledge of Cloud technologies and the latest trends and options (e.g., mobile). You will have strong business analysis and problem-solving expertise and some training in Agile techniques such as Kanban. Strong team leadership abilities expertise with the capability to coach and develop others, together with strong communication, stakeholder engagement (internal and external) and relationship management expertise across all levels of an organisation are essential. Some national travel will be required.
