This may be the right job for you! We’re looking for a new team member who is passionate about working with cows. We milk 500 cows on 170 ha just outside of Lumsden. Infrastructure includes 36 a-side herringbone, ACR’s, meal feeding system and a wintering barn. Lumsden is situated 75 minutes from Queenstown, 1 hour from Te Anau and 40 minutes from Gore. We’re looking for a farm adjunct, milk harvester or herd manager. The farm adjunct job entails all aspects of farming including but not limited to; milking, feeding, ensuring animal health needs are met, driving tractors, making silage and maintenance of equipment. Currently, the tasks and responsibilities are divided to the skill set of staff. We’re looking for someone who will show great stockman ship, who can work independently as well as part of a team and has a good work ethic. We are seeking for Somebody with existing agricultural practice. Our farm is well maintained and our stock is well looked after. One of our key goals this season is to grow as much grass as we can and utilise all of it. You are expected to work around 40 hours/week. Roster is negotiable, but we often work with 5-2 this time of year. Accommodation is available for a single person or couple. candidates for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa and a driver’s licence.
