We have one permanent, full-time position available:
   » Special Education Advisor – Waikato South East team
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary collaborative team providing ecological assessment, intervention, training and reporting services, advising and supporting schools and early childhood centres to provide inclusive practices that enable student success.
You will need strong teaming expertise and the competency to establish effective relationships with wh?nau, parents, families, educators and key providers working within the community.
An consciousness and sensitivity to cultural and ethnic diversity, a strong commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi, the Ministries priorities and the M?ori education strategy ‘Ka Hikitia’, are essential.
A expertise of Te Reo me ng? Tikanga and previous prosperous engagement with M?ori is highly desirable.
Post-graduate degree or diploma in education, special education or related discipline significant to the focus of the position (e.g. family work, discapability or mental health).
Demonstrated prosperous practice in classroom or other significant settings and of including students with special needs in classroom or other significant settings. A current driver’s licence is required.
