They work as part of teams under direction of a Registered Nurse. Their typical day can involve assisting with patient care,patient transfers, as well as supporting to keep our wards, departments and operationg theatres ready to provide the best care to our patients. It’s a busy and wide ranging function with plenty of variety and one that makes a really positive contribution to our health services for patients andwh?nau – as such Information technology is a very compensateing and fulfilling position within the team. We have developed an exciting new programme that enables participants to gain an earnings as a Healthcare adjunct from the minute they start their education and training and go on to achieve their level 3 NZQA qualification (NZ Certificate in Health an Wellbeing programme) after around 9 months (or less for those with existing part qualifications) and this is a great start to building a long term health career with our on-going support. A strong work ethic, excellent time management and people skills will ensure a safe, pleasant and functional working environment that has a direct and positive impact on patient care. A strong level of commitment to embracing our organisational values and focus on health equity and Te Tiriti o Waitangi will be essential. Potential candidates for the opportunity could be part way through an existing HCA qualificaiton, perhaps wanting to move back into the workforce after a break or maybe working in another function completely, paid or voluntary but above all is what is in your heart that might drive you to pursue a career helping others. We are very keen for a diverse cohort for this exciting programme including increasing the number of M?ori and Pacific participants to better reflect the patient communities that we serve and in support of our health equity goals.
