Job Opportunity: Seasonal Lab Technician - Main Shift:Haines AttractJob description:Haines Attract, - Bay-of-Plenty Seasonal Lab Technician - Main Shift, Seasonal Jobsin Bay-of-Plenty New Zealand Located right next to Baypark in Mount Maunganui Bay of Plenty We are pursuing Seasonal Kiwifruit Laboratory Technicians to join our team. We need your help to build on the success of the last couple of seasons! The function offers a great opportunity to gain laboratory practice gain an knowledge of the Kiwifruit season work as part of a team and gain some money. This is a great function that will suit a range of candidates no practice required full training will be provided. The function Seasonal Kiwifruit Laboratory Technicians carry out routine kiwifruit maturity testing on samples on behalf of our client Zespri to determine if samples meet minimum clearance criteria and assess fruit quality. this function is for a fixed-term period from March to May working variable hours. Hours will be agreed to meet yours and the requirements of the business which operates 7 days a week. You will be required to be available to work a minimum of 3 days per week (and up to 6) including at least one weekend day. Main shift default start time is 2pm (start time can alter) and usually finishes between 8pm and midnight. Our laboratory operations start ahead of the kiwifruit harvest and offer a variety of tasks. Key tasks and Job responsibilities: » Routine maturity testing on samples that may include:- Weight Firmness Colour Dry Matter Brix Seeds- Sample Reception- Fruit Disposal- Cleaning/Housekeeping About you » Self-disciplined with proven capability to follow set procedures and take the initiative when necessary » Team player able to create a good working relationship with other staff in the team and across the company » Good analytical/technical expertise - attention to detail accuracy and precision » Good level of English; Basic computer expertise » Flexible with hours of work recognising that this work is seasonal and has peaks and troughs all over the season » Have your own cell phone for receiving text messages (to receive shift information/communications What we offer » A variety of shift hours appropriate for all including retirees and backpackers » Pay rate $24.65 + 8% Holiday Pay » Productivity located incentives Hill Labs is a family-friendly values driven and mature New Zealand owned business.
