About volunteering with VSA VSA is New Zealand’s largest and most practiced volunteering agency working in international development. We provide skilled Kiwi volunteers to support organisations in the Pacific and beyond through capacity building, both in country and virtually. Please note VSA Volunteers must be a NZ citizen or permanent resident. Our Partner Organisation– Health First Specialists Group Ltd (Honiara) In 2022, a group of national senior specialist clinicians shared the idea of forming a specialist corporate group to privately provide a specialist health service in Honiara. The group would like to establish a specialist private health care facility in Honiara, Solomon Islands that offers an alternative to the government run National Referral Hospital. The group would like to provide tertiary health service that contributes to the National Development Strategy, particularly in the provision of healthcare and economic growth of Solomon Islands. The Country – Solomon Islands Explore islands with natural white sandy beaches, a rich culture, and history. Spend time on the water with endless opportunities to practice the incredibly diverse marine wildlife. The Assignment In this assignment a VSA volunteer will provide support to Health First by conducting a prepracticcapability analysis that will give the board members and shareholders initial information for decision making on the long term technical and financial sustaincapability of the proposal. A practiccapability study could then be conducted to build a business case with details of all components of the facility/service, construction, and operations. You will need to be flexible, adaptable, resourceful, resilient with a passion for Aotearoa and the wider Pacific community. We’re looking for a volunteer withthe following: » significant qualification and at least two years' practice in health economics, hospital planning, hospital management and administration, OR at least five years' practice in development of practiccapability studies in healthcare and/or construction projects. » Demonstrated practice in private health services development and hospital facility management and administration. » Evidence of having undertaken similar assignments » Financial analysis capcapability Apply Now!
