The current senior Property Manager is retiring after six years and is handing over a very established property portfolio. You’ll essentially lead the property management division of the business – there is potential to grow a team around you. The team are great; it’s small and vibrant, everyone is self-sufficient and resourceful. The Principals are working Agents themselves, so everyone is busy. Relationships with property owners, vendors and buyers are valuable and fostered – repeat business is so strong as is relationships with other real estate agencies in town. The Job We need an practiced Property Manager for this function. You’ll hit the ground running taking over an established base of approx. 90 properties, however we are definitely looking for an ambitious person who will build this and the business around themselves. Your day could include: » Letting properties, managing property enquiries and interviewing potential tenants » Routine inspections (including new and departing tenants) » Organising property maintenance and repairs » Communicating with new clients and rental appraisals » Following up on rent arrears and any issues that arise with a property » Regular proactive communications with clients including legislation changes and implications – you are the rental property expert, especially with the new Healthy Homes legislation » Regular networking and business development The Ideal Person To be a super star in this job you’ve got to love people. I mean love them! Honesty and integrity are high on the wish list too. You’re pulled in multiple directions daily, you’ll be super organised, always one step ahead and a whizz prioritising your day. A practical expertise about houses, plumbing, maintenance etc will definitely be valuable. People are your business; your property owners, tenants and everyone in between.
