Background
This NGO operates within the social services sector and comprises a number of entities that require accuracy and detail in reporting to key stakeholders. The incumbent has resigned and leaves at the end of May and there is a requirement for a handover of the function. So ideally we need someone who is either available now or coming available in the next couple of weeks. The Detail We're after a good technical accountant. this function reports through to the second tier of the financial team, so requires a hands-on person who enjoys number crunching and is accurate in detail. Requirements You will be well practiced in Financial Accounting and preferably have practice in group accounting, even if it's just a few entities. Whilst accounting qualifications would be ideal, it's not necessary - the main requirement being you're thorough and accurate.
Personal: Being in the NGO and social services arena, we need someone who will fit into this style of organisation. The team has been together for a while and are there for the value they add and their desire to "give back" in a sense. you'll also be a good communicator and be happy to be part of a friendly and compassionate team. The Opportunity Whilst a contract function is on offer, there is a requirement to replace the permanent function, and ideally, this client would love to take on someone who would ultimately take on the permanent function. However, right now, the need is for a contractor who can step in and hit the ground running. This client operates from lovely city offices in the city with plenty of amenities around, and easily accessed by public transport.
