About the function The function is located in Whangarei and is responsible for providing financial advice, information and analysis to help managers across the Northland region to make timely and informed financial decisions, manage financial performance and to be accountable for public funds. We are pursuing an outstanding finance professional who understands Government decision making and operating procedures and who can strengthen our capability to provide effective financial management and support the Ministry’s financial strategy. We are seeking for people who are focused on process improvement and are keen to move towards providing a service beyond the purely financial. About you To be prosperous in this function you will have a practical and positive attitude, a keen interest in process improvement and the capability to build effective relationships and credibility with customers at all levels across the Ministry, team members and colleagues in Finance. You will also offer the following: » Tertiary Qualification in Finance, Commerce or Business, and holding Chartered Accountant status within CAANZ or equivalent is desired » A sound knowledge of public sector financial management » Thorough practical knowledge and application of management accounting principles and techniques » practice undertaking financial modelling and in-depth or complex financial analysis » Can effectively influence and provide specialist advice to senior managers If you’d like to bring your expertise to a compensateing function within an organisation that’s continuously reaching goals and striving for a better future for New Zealand, we’d love to hear from you.
