Job Opportunity: Director, Partners in Care:HainesAttractJob description:Job DescriptionPermanent, full-time positionWellington located The Health Quality and Safety Commission (the Commission) is recruiting a Director of Partners in Care. This position will be reporting to the Chief executive, and together with a strong team of experts will lead the Commission in its function, as the key national health quality agency, to facilitate and support the embedding of the consumer and wh?nau voice through engagement and participation across the whole health system. You will have proven practice in leading the development of consumer or lived practice engagement and partnership within health settings, with a strong knowledge and knowledge of the consumer or lived practice movement with the health and discapability systems in Aotearoa New Zealand. A good knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi is essential along with the skill and practice to develop and maintain on-going partnerships essential for the Commission to embed Te Tiriti within all its work. Within this, a good knowledge of the te ao M?ori concept of wh?nau is also essential. The Commission has a strong focus on the elimination of inequities, particularly for M?ori and other priority populations such as Pacific peoples and disabled people. The prosperous candidate will have a strong focus on this goal. Personal resilience and a passionate belief in the vital function of consumer and wh?nau engagement and partnership in improving better health results for all people in Aotearoa New Zealand is essential for this function, with excellent interpersonal, negotiation and presentation expertise and the capability to foster good stakeholder relationships through consultation and partnership. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about how organisations work and understand the origin of reasoning behind key policies, practices, and procedures. You will set a high standard for yourself and others to execute to while encouraging collaboration and integration within the Commission, and the sector. The Commission is a Crown entity with a Board responsible to the Minister of Health. The Commission is responsible for monitoring quality and safety across the health system and assisting health providers to improve service safety and quality and therefore results for all those who use these services in Aotearoa New Zealand.
